Matte, not glazed, and it changes everything
A gloss glaze bounces light and shows every fingerprint. This is fired to a flat matte instead, so the cup reads as stone rather than china. It is also a slightly grippier surface, which matters more than you would think on a cup being lifted by two fingers and a thumb.
Shaped like a good cup, not a mug
The bowl is close to a sphere with the top taken off it, 9cm across the rim and 7.8cm tall, so slightly wider than it is high. The widest point is the belly and the wall curves back inward towards the rim. That is not decoration, it is what keeps the crema on a coffee and the heat in the cup rather than letting both escape across a wide open mouth. It holds 300ml, which is a proper flat white or a generous tea rather than a thimble of espresso.
The saucer earns its place
At 16cm across, the saucer is well over half as wide again as the cup, with a shallow well in the middle that the cup foot settles into. That leaves genuine room for a spoon alongside without it sliding off, which is the whole point of a saucer and the thing most of them get wrong.

Care
A matte surface is more open than a gloss one, so wipe up coffee and tea rather than leaving it to sit, and avoid abrasive pads, which will burnish shiny patches into the finish over time. Warm water and a soft cloth is all it wants.

You have 14 days from the day your order arrives to tell us you would like to return it, and a further 14 days to send it back. Items must come back unused, undamaged and in their original packaging.
Return postage is paid by you, and the parcel is your responsibility until it reaches us, so please use a tracked service. You are welcome to inspect an item as you would in a shop. If it has been cooked with, eaten from, washed, sharpened or otherwise used or marked, we will deduct the loss in value from your refund, up to the full price where the item can no longer be resold.
