The whole point is the spout
Pour over coffee lives or dies on how the water goes in. A normal kettle dumps it, drilling a channel through the grounds so half the bed never gets wet and the cup comes out thin and sour. The gooseneck narrows the flow to a 5mm bore, which turns it into something you can steer, so you can wet the bed evenly, pause for the bloom, and pour in slow circles at whatever rate you want.
Two details you only notice once you own one
The lid has a small metal clip that fixes it to the body, so it stays put at the steep angle a slow pour needs rather than sliding off into the dripper. And the strap handle stands about 3cm clear of the body on two short posts, so the hot metal never touches your hand. Neither is glamorous. Both are the difference between a kettle you use daily and one that lives in a cupboard.
Small on purpose
At 350ml this holds roughly what one or two cups actually need, and the whole thing stands only 11.5cm tall. That matters more than it sounds. A full large kettle is heavy and hard to pour slowly, and the last thing you want mid bloom is a wobbling wrist. Less water in the vessel means more control over where it lands.
Why you will love it
- 5mm gooseneck spout - a controllable stream instead of a splash.
- Vertical pour - water goes straight down into the bed, not sideways across it.
- Handle held clear of the body - stays holdable when the kettle is hot.
- Clipped lid - will not slide off when you tilt hard.
- 350ml capacity - light in the hand, which is what makes a slow pour possible.
- Matt black finish - does not show water marks the way polished steel does.
- Works for tea too - the same control suits delicate leaf that scorches under a hard pour.

Care
Rinse and dry after use rather than leaving water standing, since hard water will leave scale inside the spout and a narrow spout is the one you least want furred up. If it does scale, a warm solution of citric acid left to sit will clear it without scrubbing. Wipe the matt exterior rather than scouring it.
